George Nail Polish

George by ASDA nail polish ranges between £1 (if its on offer) - £2.75. So its pretty inexpensive and I seem to have a small collection going on.

They have a huge range of colours to choose from. From pastels to metallic's  and even shatter effect all 'quick drying'.

They're a cheap buy and you get what you pay for. The polish itself isn't very opaque so 2-3 thin coats are needed. But the colour range I love so undoubtedly I'l buy more.

As for quick drying, I'd say it does just that which is always an added bonus. It lasts 1 - 2 days without chipping too bad.

One of my favourite colours is this vibrant pink called groove its much brighter in real life and is a real Barbie pink. Perfect to put you in a girly mood.
On this lil finger is a sample of the pale pink glitter polish called pink glitz it adds just a hint of sparkle to the polish underneath. Can be worn on its own to add subtle sparkle to your colour free nails.

I want to try out their metallic range and shatter effects also so I'll be updating this post from time to time. Showing other favourite colours.

Although these polishes are cheap I would say they are definitely cheerful and worth the £1.75 you pay.

Sally Hansen INSTA-DRI

I've had this Sally Hansen INSTA-DRI (£6.99) top coat for a while now and have used it every time I paint my nails. I bought it after seeing a short review of it on youtube, where the girl sad it was awesome and I was in desperate need of a decent top coat so I bought it.

On the box it states that it will have your nails dry to touch in 30 seconds and give you chip-free shine for up to 10 days.

As much as I would love to say it 'its fantastic and works like a charm!' I can't. It does only one of those things for me.

If your after a top coat that will have your nails touch dry fast this is great for that, so if you have a night out planned and want your nails done quick-smart use this. Though touch dry I wouldn't try doing something like the washing up straight after because you will end up with dents and smudges if your not careful.

Chip-free shine for 10 days however...not so much :(

You'll be safe for 1 day for sure..maybe 2. But I have found normally by day 2 its chipping slightly on my index and middle fingers, day 3 chipping more, day 4 I'm taking the polish off.

I'm so glad I bought this with the points on my Boots card otherwise I would be pissed. Maybe I should be buying more expensive nail polish perhaps? Would it work better then? I do not know.

So my verdict is thus, grand if you need your nails to dry quick and want to have nice nails for just 1 day.

*7th April 2013*

Recently I tried 2 coats of top coat and I found my nails were chip free for longer. 2-3 days. Day 5 they were looking ok, chipped but not horrid. So I change my verdict: Use 2 coats of insta-dri and your manicure will last longer than it would with one!

Thanks

discountUK Haul

I recently went into my local discountUK store to see if I could pick up any hair and beauty bargains, and I was not disappointed!  With the exception of 2 items I got everything for 99p! :)

(From left to right) GumTree Henna Hair Conditioner 99p, Twisted Sista blow drying creme 99p, Argan Oil Shampoo & condtioner both 99p, Clearasil Daily Care Wash & Mask £1.49, Hair Boutique Volumising inserts 99p & Malibu lip balm with SPF 30 (pack of 3) £1.49.

GUM TREE Henna Hair Conditioner

I had never heard of this brand before but I saw the word henna and thought I had to give it ago. I'd heard that henna was great for the hair and for 99p why not? I've only used this once so far because I have a massive tub of TRESemme deep conditioner to get through. I don't think this the product smells particularly nice, but has a nice consistency to it. It says to leave in your hair for 2-5 mins, longer the better I always think. When I tried it I only left it in for a short amount of time thanks to our leaky shower (only quick showers boo) but it did leave my hair soft. Once I've used this a bit more I'll update this space.

twisted sista blow drying creme

Another brand I hadn't heard of but I was looking for something that would tame my mildly frizzy/fluffy post blow dry hair or just make my hair soft and shiny. This product it quite sticky when you get it on your hands but once you work it through your hair no more stickiness. The smell reminds me of jelly sweets and while I'd say my flufffy hair is still fluffy the more I have used this the soft my hair feels. I don't know, maybe its this plus all the other crap I use aswell. :P  I'll keep using it 99p its worth it :)

Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner

     Shampoo                                                    Conditioner

Argan Oil, hairs BFF.
I've used Argan oil before but not in a shampoo and conditioner so I had to try these. I've used them once, because again I have shampoo and conditioner to use up, and I love it! It some how cut my blow dry time down which is an instant win as it seems to take forever to do anyway, and my hair was lovely and soft after using it. The conditioner smells better than the shampoo, and in addition to having Argan oil the conditioner contains Castor oil, Olive fruit, Coconut oil & Avocado oil. All lovely things for your hair :) I was so happy I went and bought some more £1.98 you can't loose.

HAIR BOUTIQUE volumising inserts

I saw a tutorial on youtube using these bad boys and thought how clever! (simple things, simple mind) And thought I'll have a look on ebay maybe sometime. No need discountUK has everything! The box includes 1 large insert, 2 medium and 2 small, along with a guide leaflet with some hairstyles to try. Can't wait to try these a whirl.

Malibu LIP CARE BALM

I am a lip balm fiend. You know that question:

"If you could take one beauty item to a desert island what would it be?"

My answer would be lip balm. I can't leave the house without. I am plagued with dry chappy sore lips if I don't use it. When I saw these babies I was like yes, having those plus the word Malibu sent me to a hot beach far away from this cold horrid weather, along with a glass of Malibu and pineapple to keep me company...mm. They have SPF 30 which is fantastic if the weather decides to get hot, and come in 3 yummy flavours, Tropical, Watermelon & Vanilla. There is no distinguishing colours in the lip balm themselves just the scent. Love these :)

Clearasil DAILY CLEAR Wash & Mask

A wash and a mask, well hello dual purpose beauty, This has Avocado & Pomegranate extracts and smells quite fresh. I haven't had a chance to use this yet so I'l update this when I have.

Thanks for reading

Primark Mini Haul

Its not much of a haul but I wanted to share the cute things I bought today :)

Pale wash denim shirt £10: Wanted one of these babies for a while now.Cream and gold enamel popper buttons, makes it easy to whip off!

Grey studded hoodie £9: I was in desperate need of a grey hoodie and I fell in love with this grungy one. I'm not the biggest fan of studs on clothes but these babies are quite subtle and don't stick out too much.

Pale pink almond toed pumps £5: Amazing, I fell in love with these straight away. They look very pretty and chic when on, love them with my dark wash jeans. Tiny little bit of faux gold leather detailing on the bow. So cute! :)

Polka dot pink hair bow £1.50: I'm really loving hair bows at the minute to keep hair out of my face, plus the look super cute and girly for spring, if we ever get the weather!

finally...

Rings and earring combo: £2.50: When I saw them I had to have them, but maybe that was a mistake, and a waste of £2.50, because yet again a small size ring still doesn't fit my super skinny fingers :( plus the flower, pearl and ball ring all have a dodgy join which scratch your finger like buggery! The earrings are cute though!

Thanks for looking at my first Haul and post ;P
